Is E-Waste A Serious Problem ?

You may think that E-waste is not a problem, and it only consists of non-used electronics. However, what you may not be aware of is that manufacturers use many hazardous elements inside of their electronics’ internal components. Some of those materials include but are not limited to mercury, lead, and beryllium (Cho) .

Health Concerns

As we have mentioned before, the internal components of electronics include hazardous elements. But to what extent can these elements affect our health? It turns out that that inhaling chemicals and having direct contact with the e-waste components can lead to premature births, and decreased lung function. In addition, one of the hazardous elements in computer wires include Cadmium which can potentially cause cancer. It also has lead which may give children brain damage (Huchchannavar).
